We remember in our thoughts and our prayers today the countless deceased employees, friends and benefactors of the Order; men and women who have supported Dominicans, in one way or another, for the past 800 years. As members of a worldwide religious Order one can only do so much, and without the material help of our friends and benefactors we could not do what we do. And so, each year, we take the opportunity to offer Mass for those friends and benefactors who have died; and especially for those who have helped our own community. Those who support us with their time, their talents, and in financial and material ways share in the apostolate of the Order, and no religious group can really manage on a day to day basis without their help. And so, it is with profound gratitude today, that we offer this Mass for the repose of the souls of our deceased friends and benefactors, praying that God will reward their sacrifice and their generosity to us.
Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all our deceased friends and benefactors, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
